Associate Professor at Uniandes School of Management. She holds a Ph.D. in Geography (Clark University), a Master in City Planning (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), and both a M.A. and B.A. in Economics from Uniandes. She was post-doctoral researcher at the School of Earth Sciences (Stanford University) and has been a visiting scholar at the Centre on Food Security and the Environment at Stanford University. Her research focuses on the impact of globalization on land use, with special emphasis on tropical commodities. She is currently working on understanding how companies make decisions with respect to investment in sustainability and the impact of such decisions on communities and ecosystems. She has over twenty years of experience in rural development and environmental conservation in Latin America.
