Martha Bakker has a background in physical geography (University of Amsterdam) and completed her PhD on land use change in relation to soil degradation at the Universite Catholique de Louvain la Neuve. After her PhD she started as postdoc at Wageningen University - chair group Land Dynamics, and moved to the Land Use Planning group after several years. Since july 2019 she is the chair holder of this group.
