Dr. Marta Gallardo is a Lecturer at the Department of Geography, Spanish Distance Education University, Spain. Her research covers topics such as land use change modeling, land use future simulations, GIS and geospatial analysis, urban growth, natural protected areas and environmental policies. She holds a PhD from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Complutense University, Madrid, Spain, and a Master in Geographical Information Technologies. Previoulsy, she was working as a Postdoc Researcher at the University of Murcia, Spain, and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Concepción, Chile, teaching in Bachelor and Master Degrees topics related with GIS and environmental issues.
At the present moment, she is involved in the Spanish research project INCERTIMAP: Suitability and uncertainty of land use and land cover maps for the analysis and modelling of territorial dynamics.
