Dr. Marta Gallardo is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Geography, University of Murcia, Spain. Her research covers topics such as land use change modeling, land use future simulations, GIS and geospatial analysis, urban growth and natural protected areas and environmental policies. She holds a PhD from Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Complutense University, Madrid, Spain, and a Master in Geographical Information Technologies. Previoulsy, she was working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Concepción, Chile, teaching in Bachelor and Master Degrees topics related with GIS and environmental issues.
At the present moment, she is involved in two research projects: Synercap (Synergies between agricultural and environmental policies aiming at the sustainability of Mediterranean agrosystems) and Diseglob (Design of a methodology for monitoring and assessing global sustainability of National Parks and the influence of future land use changes in Spain).
