Kathleen (Neumann) Hermans is a geographer and is interested in socio-ecological systems and their dynamics. She has broad experience in land use and global change analysis. Since July 2016 Kathleen leads a junior research group at the Environmental Research Centre (UFZ), Germany on the topic of environmental change and human migration in the tropics. Kathleen earned a PhD degree from Wageningen University, the Netherlands (2010). Her career includes several research positions at research institutes and universities in both Germany and the Netherlands.
