I’m a physical geographer and a Nigerian by nationality. I obtained a PhD in Geography (Urban Climatology) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2013 and I have been a faculty member at Benue State University, Nigeria since 1989. My research interest focused on understanding the bidirectional relationship between climate and land use in cities. I’m also interested in utilising Remote Sensing and Gis in measuring urbanisation impact on land use, and how land use can be used in mitigating the impact climate change in cities. Over the last decade, my research interest also include assessment of climate related hazard risks in cities, developing emergency preparedness and response plans and climate action plans for disaster prevention in urban areas.
