Mr. Chidiebere Ofoegbu is a forest scientist with a specialization in socioeconomics aspect of forest resource use and management. Mr. Ofoegbu obtained Ph.D. Forest Science degree from the University of Pretoria, and Master of Science in forestry degree from Stellenbosch University South Africa. In addition, Mr. Ofoegbu has gained recognition from leading international organizations for his scholarly and contributions to the field of sustainable forest management. He has been honored with both the young scientist research award (2009) and young foresters’ award (2010) by the Commonwealth Forestry Association. He is also a fellow of the International Tropical Timber Organization headquartered in Japan; National Research Foundation, South Africa and Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany. Mr. Ofoegbu is currently the research team leader for the ASSAR project at university o cape town South Africa.
