Lucia is a landscape architect with a Master's Degree in Natural Resource Management. She is currently pursuing a new degree in Ecology and a non-academic training in Arboriculture. Her interest are: landscape/ecosystem restoration, urban and peri urban green/blue infrastructure, sustainable land and resource use schemes, ecosystem services estimation techniques and footprinting.
As a landscape architect, she has researched on and desigend schemes to restore waterscapes and their associated ecosystem services. In her praxis for private clients she builds and designs wilderness-inspired gardens and edible landscape design, using permaculture techniques and local materials.
As a natural resources researcher, Lucia has worked in multi- and transdisciplinary research projects on the topics of sustainable wastewater management, sustainable land management and ecosystem-based adaptation. She has researched for the United Nations University, for the Berlin-based Thinktank TMG Research and for the German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ).
Lucia is mostly interested in applied research and community-based projects tha use scientific knowledge and approaches to solve real-world problems in a practical way.
