Babar Shahbaz is Professor at the Institute of Agricultural Extension, Education& Rural Development, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan. He has also served as Chair of Outreach program at the US-Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Food Security and Agriculture, and visiting fellow at SDPI. He was affiliated with Swiss National Center for Competence in Research (NCCR North-South) as PhD scholar and post-doc researcher; with Secure Livelihood Research Consortium (SLRC) of ODI, UK as senior researcher. His research interests include; rural development, sustainable livelihoods, agricultural extension, landuse conflicts, food security and natural resource management. Dr. Shahbaz possesses more than 20 years of experience in planning, management and co-ordination of inter- and trans-disciplinary research projects from various donor agencies. He is a prolific writer and has published more than 50 research papers in renowned peer reviewed journals on rural livelihoods, community forestry and rural development. He has authored three (3) books and several policy briefs, newspaper articles etc.
