Jose Monteiro

I am forest ecologist and practitioner specializing in community-based natural resource management (CBNRM) in Mozambique. Currently working as Executive Director of ReGeCom (Community-Based Natural Resources Management Network), where lead initiatives to strengthen community governance systems, secure land and resource rights, and promote inclusive conservation models across multiple landscapes. My work integrates science, policy, and practice, with a strong focus on community data systems, and sustainable rural livelihoods. Throughout my work, I enforce collaboration with government, research institutions, and international partners to advance evidence-based approaches that position communities as central actors in land governance and biodiversity conservation
