About Dipayan's Work
Dr Dipayan Dey is an environmental biotechnologist with acumen in restoration ecology as well with twenty-five years of comprehensive experience in taking ahead community-based sustainable climate initiatives in entire South Asia. He had the opportunity to lead collaborative action-research for accomplishing SDGs in this ecoregion with several UN Organs and as well World Bank, Global Development Network, Japan Social Development Fund, GIZ, IUCN, USAID etc. initiating conservation planning and resource management at community-ecosystem interface. Presently, his work entails advocacy and action-research on sustainability and ecoregional environmental issues nested in multilateral policies. He represents the major stakeholders in UN Environment and is in consultative status with UNFCCC, GEF and ECOSOC. More recently Dr Dey is working on adaptive and regenerative agro-farming at landscape level in socio-ecological production landscapes of climate vulnerable areas in South Asia.
