Invitation to submit to the Special Issue "Women, Youths, and Land Tools or Methods"

Related GLP Member: Uchendu Eugene Chigbu

Dear colleagues and friends,

Please allow me to draw your attention on the call for papers for the
Special Issue, “Women, Youths, and Land Tools or Methods" which has
just been released with the Journal Land (ISSN 2073-445X). I think you
could make an excellent contribution to the Special Issue based on
your expertise. The call for papers is attached to this email, and
available on the website of the special issue:
https://www.mdpi.com/journal/land/special_issues/land_women

This Special Issue builds a knowledge base of research that presents
emerging land tools or methods that can improve understanding of
land–women–youth–policy relationships. Manuscripts reporting results
of in-depth reviews, review studies, case studies, and conceptual
studies can all contribute to identifying progress and challenges in
the field. Submitted work can have a technical focus or an economic
lens. They can be based in the social sciences, applied sciences, or
apply an inter- or trans-disciplinary approach. It is one aim of this
Special Issue to integrate the perspectives of different disciplines
that treat issues related to land or natural resources.

Submissions will be accepted until 30 June 2020, but early submission
is seriously encouraged. All submissions will be subject to
double-blind peer review, and publication will be shortly after
acceptance, i.e., the publication can be well before the deadline for
submissions. A first decision based on peer-review will usually be
provided to authors less than one month after submission, followed by
rapid publication. The publication is open access.

As an invited author, you can benefit from a special arrangement of
this special issue to publish free of charge. The regular article
processing charge (APC) (for accepted publications only) is 1000 CHF
(Swiss Francs; currently around 900 EUR). If you would like to make
use of the arrangement to publish free of charge, please contact me
before submission and within the next three weeks latest, briefly
indicating the topic and context of your planned submission, the
planned title of your manuscript and the planned date of submission.
The publisher has already agreed to waive publication costs for some
invited manuscripts, but this is currently limited to a selected
number of submissions.

Land is published online by MDPI (open access, publication after
peer-review). Land is indexed in Scopus, Web of Science/ Emerging
Sources Citation Index (ESCI - Web of Science) and other databases.
Information is available on the journal’s website:
http://www.mdpi.com/journal/land

As Guest Editor of the Special Issue “Women, Youths, and Land Tools or
Methods," I have decided for Land due to the good visibility of
publications (open access and indexed in major databases), the
reasonable overall publication time and a still reasonable article
processing charge per accepted paper. The article processing charge
can be fully waived for some invited submissions to this special issue
(after an individual consultation with me as Guest Editor).

In addition to the regular publication of the single manuscripts, and
subject to a number of arrangements, the publisher might also compile
the publications of this special issue into a book form with MDPI
Books (available open access on the website, and on-demand also in
printed form; http://www.mdpi.com/books), which will further increase
visibility of the publications.

A template for manuscript preparation is available here

I very much hope this call for papers finds your interest and highly
appreciate your readiness to support this initiative. I will be glad
to answer any questions and look forward to learning more about your
projects and findings around “land, women, youth, and land methods or
tools.”

Best regards
Uchendu (Eugene) Chigbu
