A new GLP workshop paper focusing on challenges and perspectives for Land System Science in Latin America is published in Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability. Authors Sébastien Boillat et al. review the status, trends, and challenges for LSS in Latin America in a and propose research agenda for the region that can develop more accurate and integrative monitoring of land change and their social and ecological consequences, better understand different stakeholder perspectives within a context of livelihood diversification, and encourage institutional feedbacks to govern land systems influenced by distant drivers. The paper is the product of a regional workshop held by GLP’s previous International Programme Office hosted by the Brazilian Institute for Space Research (INPE), São José dos Campos, Brazil.
