The Planning of Landscape and Urban Systems (PLUS) group at the Institute for Spatial and Landscape Development (IRL) focuses on integrating the goals of sustainable spatial and landscape development, economic viability and responsible governance into spatial planning. As part of the teaching and research of the department, we are looking for a science as of August 1, 2020 . Assistant / teaching assistant (100%) landscape planning, spatial development, environmental sciences or geography.

Job Description

They take over the coordination of teaching at PLUS, develop and carry out exercises, support in existing courses and supervise students. You are also responsible for organizing excursions, exams and theses in the department. The teaching of the department is aimed at students from the areas of spatial development, spatial engineering, environmental engineering and geography at Bachelor and Master level. In addition, you work in various research projects, in particular in a project to record the benefits and added value of ecological infrastructure under various scenarios for Switzerland on behalf of the Federal Office for the Environment.

Your Profile

You have studied landscape planning, environmental planning, spatial development, environmental sciences, geography or a comparable subject, have knowledge in the areas of spatial and landscape development, landscape ecology, ecosystem services and / or environmental sciences and GIS as well as first experience in working on scientific research projects. You enjoy working with students and conveying teaching content and convince with your social skills, willingness to communicate and teamwork, work independently, are initiative and organized. You will also be fluent in German and English.
