The Department of Life and Environmental Sciences at Bournemouth University is looking for a post-doctoral candidate to apply for the Marie Sklodowska – Curie Individual Fellowship (MSCA-IF 2019) on the topic of forest resilience. The candidate will help to develop the MSCA-IF application, together with an experienced supervisory team and a professional bid writer. Supervisory team will consist of experts in forest ecology, geography and GIS.

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who meets the eligibility criteria of the Horizon 2020 MSCA-IF programme. The candidate should have:

  • a PhD or equivalent before the MSCA IF application deadline (September 2019) in forest ecology, geography or similar subject (if possible, but not limited to, the topic of forest resilience and/or land use/cover changes)
  • evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • evidence of presentation at international conferences
  • preferably some international post-doctoral experience
  • knowledge of Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian language is desirable, but not essential
  • you must not have lived or worked in the UK to for more than 12 months during the three years up to the closing date of the call (11 September 2019).

The contract will be full time (40 hours per week) and temporary (24 months - time of fellowship).The work will take place at Bournemouth University with a possibility of shorter secondments to partner organizations (up to 3 months).
