The thesis project shall study the political economy of biodiversity financing, with a particular focus on the role of Swedish public expenditures for biodiversity conservation and their relation to financial markets. This could include, for example, mapping current public and private expenditures, assessing existing finance solutions and financing needs, and devising solutions to mobilize the required resources. Methodologically, the thesis can draw on quantitative and qualitative data and inputs from a variety of sectors.
