The successful candidate will be responsible for research and academic teaching in the division “Soil Sciences” at the Thaer-Institute. We look for candidates with an excellent research and publication record in soil sciences. We particularly invite candidates with a systemic approach and experience at the interface of soil sciences to agricultural production and sustainable land use. They conduct research on soil use and management, in particular the microbiome or the flow of energy, water, carbon and matter, and contribute to the study of systemic transformations in the face of global environmental change.
The successful candidate will be an internationally leading scholar, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and the successful application and management of research grants. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment for cooperation with other academic disciplines, scientific institutes and the Integrative Research Institute on Transformations of Human-Environment Systems (IRI THESys). The teaching duties include the full breadth of soil sciences in the undergraduate and graduate programs at the Thaer-Institute.
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the `Berliner Hochschulgesetz’.
