Graduate Student Fellowship, University of Maryland Baltimore County. The Department of Geography and Environmental Systems invites outstanding applicants to apply for our Environment and Society Fellowship. Fellows will receive one year of departmental support, which includes full living stipend, health insurance, and full tuition remission. Fellows will also receive up to an additional four years of full-time support in the form of a teaching assistantship. We welcome applicants from across the natural and social sciences.

The Department of Geography and Environmental Systems is a multi-disciplinary department with an emphasis on examining the dynamic relationship between social and natural processes. Our Department recognizes that human-environment relationships encompass a wide range of political, cultural, chemical, biological, economic, and atmospheric phenomena, and we are committed to integrative research and graduate training that reflects the current complexity of environmental issues today.

The Department offers graduate programs leading to M.S and/or Ph.D degrees. Both Master’s and Ph.D students are encouraged to apply. The application deadline for Fall 2018 admission to our graduate program is February 1, 2018.
